Penang: The Receipe over 150 years.

After the crossed over the mighty Penang Bridge, and before
checking in to the apartment. We headed over to buy some local
delicacies from the famous stores. These stores are superb lan-si,
some open 6 days in a week, and some open till 12pm.

Just because of that, not to make any disappointed for this trip,
we go shop first. Him Hiang. Ghee Hiang, and Tien Yuen are 3 of
the famous store you shouldn't miss. They sell similar products,
but it is up to individual taste.

Ghee Hiang, is over 150 years. Whether is good or bad, the numbers
do tell you everything. Who can survive for that period of time
if they are not doing well all the time?? I believe no one will
survive.

No Joke! is more than 150 years.
Coca-cola older or ?? Hehehe...

Bangalow reconditioned; Receipe maintained.

The Brand: Ghee Hiang

Ghee Hiang Logo (with the famous baby)

Wide range of products. Famous Caramel Biscuits,
Tambun Biscuits, Phoem Pia Biscuits...and The Sesame Oil.

Coach Buses, one by one visiting here.
Crowds are expected here every single minute.

Every minutes, you will see buses dropping the tourists here to
shop. And many of them are Singaporean. So do the biscuits taste
real good?? I don't know. You tell me about it. Share some
comments with me.

"Ho Chiak" also pay visit here.

Penang: Lunch @ Bukit Minyak, Bukit Mertajam

I totally forgot my family trip to Penang on Wesak holidays. Luciky
my mom sent me an SMS one week earlier to informed me. And I
managed to apply off-day. Thank GOD.

But then later, my dad said he got another extra lot of apartment
cause his friends cancelled the trip last minute. So, i immediately
message to some of my travelling kaki...
Nigel, and Kelvin. And they confirmed to go. Wow!! Great! and Kelvin
will be asking one of his friend, Mr. Fooi to join us too.

So, I blurring the whole week to wait for the day 17th May (Sat).
And we convoy in two cars and reached Penang at 2.00pm due to
some delay in the morning and breakfast in PJ before departure.

Oh ya! about the breakfast, When I arrived to the Restaurant, Nigel keeps on complaining about this
REAL AUTHENTIC Prawn Mee. He got conned by that stall. So he insists
he have to compensate with the REAL Prawn Mee in Penang later.
Hahaha :)

We all makan-gang. When we say "NO". You just got to believe
us. Our standard of makan is ISO1970's certified. :)

We never been to Bukit Mertajam after so many visits to Penang. So
this round, our first stop will be Bukit Mertajam. Nothing much to
see there, and mostly are factory and light-industries. We directly
head to a newly open restaurant in Bukit Minyak for our late lunch.

Kelvin and his friend, Mr. Fooi

We ordered some mix-rice, and the price is cheaper than Selangor.
And the servings are good. My mom ordered the Hokkien Mee, and
turned up to be the Prawn Mee. Hahaha... She forgot that Prawn
Mee is called Hokkien Mee in Penang. So you people next time got
to remember that.

After the lunch, while we discussing for our next stop, Nigel found
out that this restaurant is WiFi ready. They all take our their mobile
to hook onto Internet.

*&^%$#@!!! I don't have a mobile phone with WiFi feature!! So,
inorder for me to show off to them, I also hook onot the Internet...
with my Maxis 3G (unlimited) Hahahaha!!! I even posted the photo and
update my blog using my mobile phone.

Live Update leh!! hahaha....in chinese we say "i won them few streets".

Kelvin and Nigel, exploring with the WiFi.

After resting and making fun there, we move on to our next destination.

The Penang Island.

International Glossary: "makan" means eat, or dine.

Hate to dine in Puchong - Taiping Lang Restaurant

Being 2 days, same place, traffic jam, no parking space, waiting
for long long queue for table. HATE to dine there again.

My mom suggested we go the place for dinner, and is Mothers' Day,
so WE GO!! I see the food are nothing special, totally not worth
to wait. Is just that it is recommended by "Ho-Chiak" (one of the
local TV hosted programme).

Lately, i felt that Ho-Chiak and some others are really lack in
quality of making recommendations. Many patrons to the restaurant
are having the same thought too. I think the restaurant will be
doing the "one-time" business only. :)

And there is another restaurant few doors away (Gao Ren Guan 高人馆),
this restaurant is much better. the servings is good, but the long
queue is really irritating. Most of the patrons to this restaurant
(Gao Ren Guan) are usually the over-flow from Taiping-Lang Restaurant.

Anyway, it is my comments. No big deal, ok?

Oh ya, maybe I should comment something about food in general
here. How can we judge the food initially before actually tasting
them? Not tricky at all, right?

Simple...first is the SMELL, once the food is being cook, we should
able to smell the fragrance of the ingridients all the way from
kitchen (I don't know about you, but my mom's cooking can be smell
from kitchen till few doors away). second only will be the LOOK, as
how the food being prepared and presented.

Taiping Lang Restaurant - Not in my Makan-list.

But when i was in that restaurant (Taiping Lang), i don't smell
anything on the food...even till the food being served on my table.
Oh!! The look was okay. But no smell...so my sense telling my brain,
the food is just so so...just for you to fill up your stomach...so
just keep quiet and eat.

Hahaha...go and try....then share your comments here.

p/s: the restaurant is located opposite of Puchong IOI Mall.
deep inside those shops (near the ex-Zhong Wah Lau Restaurant's location).

CNY 2008 (Rat) TSM Dinner at Puchong

2008, is the smallest Chinese New Year gathering (dinner) ever happen. Wah Lau!! Just 4 of us. For those not invited, that is because you are not.

But for those that cannot made it, we understand...we hope you can make it next year.
For those that invited, and you just forgotten... we will forward the receipt to you.

Hahaha... whenever there is a gathering, I will be very very excited. I don't know why... maybe is because I prefer friendship-life or outside-life than 'my home' life.

A gathering can be big, but can also a small group of 3 person. It doesn't really matter. Who is coming, who is missing, who is paying, who is married, or who has divorce...MOST important...is YOU are there, at that time.

It just one precious moment (every gatherings) that YOU don't want to miss.

For example, I become CHARLIE today. Wondering why ya?...hehehe !! Because there are three angels having dinner with me. YES!! is just FOUR of us. (Charlie's Angels)

TL & SW posing to the camera.

After the dinner, we went to HS's house to join in the fun with her children, mahjong fun, and chat.

Chat topic for the day: Edison, Bobo, Ah Gill, Edison, Cheung Pak Chi, and of course Edison!!! Hahaha... oh! not forget about the election coming soon (no politics issue are discuss openly).

While enjoying myself there, I was thinking so many of the flashback of our old days. I am not young (anymore). I wish I can be back to those old days with all the good memories. How nice if I can have the super power like Hiro (character in the movie "HEROES")...that I can travel in time and space.

Anyway, I will try not to miss any gatherings.

To all my friends, May Miracles Happen & Good Luck.

Always get to see some girls selling flowers in a basket beside the habour (TVB HongKong series), and then the main character will buy the whole basket of flowers from the girl.

The guy will then give all the flowers to the girlfriend.

How wonderful !

Flower-selling girl, where will you be? I wish I could buy your whole basket of flowers and then go for Valentine's Dinner with you.

Valentine's Day - February 14th (Thu), 2008

Is going to be another non-sense story here. But anyway, it is original.

The only reason for a person to come out with this idiot story is HE/SHE is LONELY.
Hahaha. What the heck is the Valentine's Day?

Oh...the inventor is also an idiot. Have you ever ask why Uncle Valentino will fix February 14th as "The Day" ??

I think I have the answer for that. Valentine's Day is originated by Chinese. As Uncle Valentino is a Chinese too. Hehehe... not many people know about it, and please don't ask me how I know it... I just knew lah.

Generally, it is just another day for us to celebrate... and for businessman to do more sales.

Chinese is very sensitive with some numbers... such as, 4, 14... etc. Therefore, Uncle Valentino picks this particular day out of 365 days as "The Day".

As no one will going to like this date. So he just want to make the day more loveable, and people will forget about the sensitive numbers issues.

February 14th = 14/2 = one to die together (sound bad, but also sounded ENDLESS LOVE)

Hahaha... just for leisure reading la. No heart-feelings, ok? :)

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
For REAL Facts, please kindly refer to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valentine's_Day

OL Button... hehehe

Hey... I saw this OL button in an elevator....what do u think this button is for?

OL = Office Lady
For you to get a Office Lady to assist you on getting up and down the floors.

OL = Oh Lan (in cantonese)
Means...if you want to shout out "shit" in cantonese, whenever you faced problems or want to make complaints about the elevator.

OL = Oh LORD
Means... when there is a breakdown, you can pray / communicate with LORD for assistance.

Hahahaa...... stupid oh? :)

P/S: OL = Over Loaded...means you are Over-weighted la. Pls call OSIM for help.

HAHAHAAA !!!

Steamboat King > visited Cheras Steamboat

Boring after work, phone to my friends and ask them for makan plan. Everyone agreed on Steamboat dinner.

Since most of them are at Cheras / Setapak, so we went to the Famous Steamboat in Cheras. The name for the restaurant is Song Fatt Teochew Steamboat. It is located in Yu-Lek Garden, Cheras.

As you may see in the photo, the place was so crowded (always). The table arrangement is from the street-end-to-end, by leaving out a walking space not bigger than my size.

This place is so popular and I am sure many of you will like to know why. First, the servings are good in quality as well as the quantity. And of course it is not pricey (approx RM15 per head). The place is very hygienic and the food served are all wrapped with plastic-wrap. The waiters and waitress are so friendly and helpful (even the Blangdesh worker).

More than 10 shops long...approximately 60 over tables.

You may choose to have the clear-soup (chicken broth), tom-yam soup, or the FAMOUS chinese-herbal soup. The soup are so tasty, yet not salty or too 'aji-no-moto'. So you will not feel thristy after having the steamboat.

Beside the steamboat, it is highly recommended you try out their BBQ/Grill dishes.
The famous will be the BBQ/Grilled Spicey Squid with Vege. The Grilled Fish are not bad too.

If you need to know more on the direction, do msg me here.

P/S: Steamboat King = Dine more than 4 times of steamboat in a week.

Religious Sundays.

How nice to be a Christian?

Is a English-speaking community (usually), got to know lots of nice-looking babe, feel of a more caring society, meeting fine people (babes), well-planned activities for weekends, greater business opportunities, get wealthier (faster?), etc.

Oh! not to forget...

You will have one more Father, that will only support you emotionally and morally...but not financially (usually lah). And you will also have many sisters-sisters, brothers-brothers too.

So? You make your decision.

For the good of 2008.

Beautiful Sunday. My mom waking me up and cancel all my plan. WHAT THE HECK?!! Is my Sunday! Is OSB Day!! I can't just miss it again.

Oh! Today is a good day for praying. So we went to do some praying in Temple. This is all for our own good, for the good of 2008. To be happier, healthier, wealthier, ...all things better lah.

This temple is very popular too. And I met up some friends and clients there. They are praying to have better business growth in 2008, so that they can buy more from my company. And I also pray good for them, so they can buy more from me.

Hahaha... mutual benefits = killing each other.

PRAY HARD & WORK SMART in 2008

Rambo... Opsss! Is the Lambo.

Yes. Is a Lamborghini (the bull).

Hey... I know is not something unusual for you people outthere. But here, in Malaysia. It is really very RARE to see 'The Bull' running around.

Saw this Lambo parked in SS2 area, Petaling Jaya. And it is sick. I think the 'Bull' is having fever (air-cond spoilt).

SS2, Petaling Jaya

Century Air-Cond Service - this shop is very popular in Klang Valley. They are really good in servicing your car air-cond, and car air-cond repair work.

From Ferrari, Porsche, Classic cars, Antique cars, Collection cars can always be seeing there for fever medication. Hahaha...

The uncle is old, but he is one of the best Air-cond Doctor for your car

I am not gila, beside me there are many people snapping the photo too

So, if your Proton, Toyota, or whatever vehicle got fever problems can consider bring it there.

Belated Birthday Celebration... Jeremy & Joyce

Hey...thanks J&J !!

Jeremy & Joyce (J&J) celebrated my belated birthday by bringing me to a wonderful place for dinner today.

My pal, Joyce & Jeremy... since year 1984

The place decorated in a balinese theme, and serves balinese foods and local varieties. At first when I reached, I saw the place... Wow! this will be superb pricey restaurant. But when I flipped thru their menu, the pricing are not too bad.
So don't let the fancy decor hold u back from visiting this fine restaurant.

Fragance rice, Sambal Balacan Kang-kung Vege, Singkong Tofu, Tomyam Fresh Seafood Soup, Deep-fried Pandan Chicken

The place is nice, but the food and the service is just at the border... so so only. But no complains lah. At least, can eat and can see.

For those that have not visited this restaurant before, do go and see. And you will be surprise. :)

Oh ya....i really a stupid donkey. I have not tell you the name of the place.
It's called "Bora Asmara" ....even the name is fancy.

Not only outside, the inside very nice too

Too bad that I not bringing along my Nikon DSLR, or else I can capture more shots and show you here. All my shots taken are blur...except a few that I taken uses the flash. Hope next round when I go visit again, I can have more steady shots to show.

Christmas Countdown 2007 at ..."some place"

Whoa! After the Christmas BBQ at Joy's place. We headed to our Christmas countdown celebration. But here comes the problem... where can we have a place to sit down and to celebrate? ...open dicusssion time, TTDI Park, SS2 Park, McDonalds SS2, your house, my house, mamak stall, ...oh! every place seem having obstacles.

We can't bring outside food and drinks into Restaurant!
We can't celebrate at the park, what if somebody come to stab us and steal away our Christmas cake? Or rob us?

Finally, we going to do the kiasu-way (act blur)...we will settle down at the KFC in Jalan University. There is a children playground at that KFC outlet.

But unfortunately, all tables are occupied after we reached there. But there have not much time left. So HOW??!

Lye Kuan& James with the Snowy-white Christmas Cake, and Nigel with the Adelaide Red-wine.

So... finally, we decided to celebrate in my mini MPV! Wow! what a great experience.
I did slept in my car overnight, I did surf-net with my lappie in my car, ...but celebrate Christmas? the FIRST TIME. hehehe...

I folded up all the rear seats, and we hop-in...seem everything is fine. Great.
We really enjoyed ourselve in the car.

Nigel & Myself... can't wait to taste the Christmas cake and the red-wine.

Is really an UNIQUE way to celebrate. We are thinking for another NEW way to celebrate Christmas for year 2008. Want to join us? :)

(too bad... that location have no fireworks to see)

Christmas BBQ @ Joy's (2007)

Hey. Overdue update!! Sorry... getting older... I getting older... really.

How can I forget this wonderful moment? On Pre-Christmas eve, I get invited by Michelle to her friend's Christmas BBQ party not far away from my work place.

Wow! Great... as I have no appointment for Christmas dinner yet. Quickly said "YES! YES!" Hahaha....free food, free fun, free enjoyment, ...everything free.

So after work on the Christmas Eve, I rush over to buy some table-red-wine from Denise (got 15% off for member)... and then rush over to meet James to choose a Christmas cake at King's Confectionery for our Count-down celebration later at midnight.

Lee, James and me setting up the BBQ Pits.

Then to Joy's house. Everyone seem late that day (or we are too early), anyway is already 8pm. So the guys start to do the scout job, start the flame. and the girls ready the table and food.

I am so enjoyed and happy...look at my BIG smile.

Everyone starts to arrive later one-by-one like the VIP in the Grammy's Award, except there are no red carpet and paparazis. hahahaa....

We have fun, we joking around... especially me. As usual lah, I am very social...can chat with almost anyone from 3 years old to 80 years old... and from students to doctors. No problem...all sapu. (hope I am not irritate by them) :-)

Anyway, is Christmas Party !!! Who cares? I have to enjoy myself.

When it is almost at 11pm, James, Lye Kuan and myself have to make a move for our private count-down celebration at 'some place'. We tell everyone that we are going, and they so nice and keep on saying thank you to us for making the BBQ pit for them... I felt touchy...nearly wanted to cry...but I hold back my tears and smile at them. Joy's mother even gives us a Christmas gift. Wow!! That's why I always love Christmas and the month of December.

HAHAHAA...

Oh! did I mentioned, we will goto 'some place' for our private Christmas count-down?? Guess where? HAHAHAHAAA... :-D

Big Thinking... Thinking Big 10 years

I am happy with what I am now. Time really flies...fast.

I found this book in my room. And this book was autographed and dated by one of my mentor on 30th Dec 1997. It was my birthday ...10 years ago.

And I have not finished reading it after 10 years. But I have read up most of the important part. This book was given by a friend of mine, at that time, he is a General Manager of a Group Company as well as a Director of a Logistic Company.

More or less, what I am now is somehow a foot-step of him. He guided me. And the book he gave me as my birthday gift...really enlighten my life.

I wish I can meet him someday and chat with him.

I have found the AudioBook for this Book. Anyone interested can message me. And I am happy to share it.

To: Mr. Damien Tan, THANK YOU, SIR.

P/S: Damien Tan, you teached me about the FIVE "C". And I still remember it.
